A 2-MINUTE INTRODUCTION
Why GHS Enterprise
The clearest account of this work has never come from us. Here is what clients said it was worth, gathered into a few minutes.
ABOUT
Bridging the Chasm
GHS Enterprise is a management consulting practice founded by Greg Smith, CMC. For over twenty-seven years, the practice has worked with organizations across Canada and the United States to read what a culture is actually producing, name where that departs from what the organization has declared, and build the capability to act on what the reading finds.
Every significant change opens a chasm between where an organization stands and where it has said it is going. Bridging that chasm is the work.
What clients describe is rarely the methodology. It is the contribution: someone who knew where to look, listened closely enough to ask the questions no one else was asking, and stayed until the work was actually done.
Two pillars. One bridge.
The thinking behind the work is organized into two pillars.
Culture Preservation protects what a high-performing organization has already built, reading the distance between what it declares and what its people actually live, and surfacing drift before it becomes crisis.
Learning Intelligence builds the capability to do that reading, and to keep doing it. Skills decay, models need adapting, and the people who hold them move on. Continuous learning is not a benefit an organization offers. It is a business imperative, because the capability to read a culture is the capability to see a problem while it is still cheap. Organizations that sustain strong cultures are the ones that never stop building it.
The Bridge between the two is the transformation of HR professionals into Culture Stewards, adding that discipline to the practice work they already carry. A Steward reads what an organization is actually communicating, names it accurately, and carries that reading to the C-Suite, to leaders, and back to the people living it.
The Deliberate Culture, The Resolute Culture, and The Bridged Culture are the published form of the same thinking that runs through every client engagement.

HOW WE WORK
The Part a Bio Leaves Out
A biography tells you what we have done. This is how the work actually happens once we are in the room.
We Hold Ourselves to the Line We Ask You to Hold
We ask organizations to close the distance between what they declare and what they live. That is not a request we make from outside it. Every document we publish and every program we deliver goes through the same silent audit before it reaches a client, checked against the standard we set rather than the deadline we are working to. Where our own gap opens, we close it before anyone else has to find it.
Your Culture Sets the Terms
Every engagement begins by reading the culture already in the room: how decisions actually get made, what language already works here, and how much change the organization can absorb without losing something worth keeping. That last one matters most. A culture worth preserving can be damaged by the pace of its own improvement.
We bring the reading and the instruments. Everything else, the pace, the language, and the shape the work takes, comes from how the client already does business.
One Firm, Several Disciplines
GHS Enterprise operates as a collective. Independent consultants, each carrying a distinct discipline into the work: organizational diagnostics, instructional design, executive coaching, facilitation, and measurement. Most have worked together for years, which is why the range does not arrive as a handoff.
A client gets the disciplines the problem actually requires, coordinated through a single accountable lead.
Plain Language, on Purpose
Consulting has a vocabulary it reaches for when the thinking underneath is thin. We do not use it.
What we tell a client has to survive being said out loud in a hallway, not just read off a slide. If a finding cannot be explained plainly, it is not finished yet.
Built From the Chair, Not the Textbook
These frameworks were not developed for organizations. They were developed inside them, in director and executive roles across government, manufacturing, and telecommunications, including the work of holding a culture together through successive mergers over the course of a single year.
Everything we bring to a client has already been tested somewhere it mattered, by someone who had to live with the result.

Greg is a highly effective HR strategist and change driver. We worked together with a small team to build a learning strategy for a major organization and he brought immense knowledge, experience and drive to this complex project. He helped us clarify our vision, dig deep for the data to support the planning, provided the project management structure to ensure we achieved our objectives, and helped us reach substantive recommendations for change. The end result was more than a report and recommendations, however. He helped educate and empower a group of us to lead change in a complex environment, and the project armed us to develop meaningful leadership and learning initiatives that are still in place today. I would recommend Greg in either complex consulting projects, or in senior change leadership roles for organizations looking to shake up the status quo and make meaningful change.
